How can we make the Rentec Direct property management software and tenant screening platform better?

  1. Keys management

    I would like to see some kind of system that keeps track of keys and/or key cylinders from unit to unit.

  2. Additional Status on Workorders

    On workorders status it has open/unassigned, open/assigned, and closed. It would be nice if there was another line that said work completed. Sometimes we do not receive invoices to bill and pay for up to a week or two after work is completed. I want to be able to mark the work complete without being closed.

  4. Billing for "none" management fees.... seriously?!

    I wish we could set a default "Display As" field for Categories. The perfect example is 6100 Management Fees. They show up as 'none' in the property ledger and we have to type in "Management Fees" for each property.....every month.....
    So that our owners can clearly understand that we don't charge them so much for "none"...
    They already think we don't earn our money. I hate billing them saying it really is 'NONE"

  6. sort data within the program

    would like to sort ledgers within Rentec without needing to download the data and then open in Excel to sort it.

  8. Add move in date and touch back date to lead list

    For Leads on the All Leads page, you should add two items: 1) The 'move in availability' date (which you could sort on) and 2) a date that you will touch base with the lead - also sortable.

  9. Grouped tenants

    Option 2 - Keep Separate
    •Roommates who don't pool their money and don't pay rent in one lump sum the system should be able to figure out what has been paid and pass the balance onto the remaining roommates. Since all roommates are equally responsible for the total rent. We as the property manager/landlord should have to get involved in how they split the rent.

    Allow the layout change for printed files.
    I can't use windowed letter for my landlords.
    I would like to condense the printing and be a little more earth friendly by saving some paper.

  12. Beginning rent charge date

    We rent several of our apartments at least 10 months ahead of time as we cater to college students. They begin to look for housing for the next academic year as soon as they arrive in the fall. However when I place the new leases in the system and place the anticipated move in date the system automatically charges their account even though the rent is not due for several months. Is there a way for you to not have the system charge the account until the proper move in date as this also effects the reoccurring transaction.

  16. Add tenants as a group

    I think it will be great if a unit have more than one tenant, that they all can received emails as a group and not the way is now that has to be sent individually

  20. Deleting more than 1 line item at a time

    If we want to be lenient and forego late fees that have already posted as charges, we have to delete them individually.

    Allow us to delete more than 1 entry at a time. Deleting 30 of them takes forever.
