Portfolio option or ability to lump certain properties (all reports to have this option)
“Portfolios” are a term used in some property based applications for lumping a group of properties for reporting or management purposes. Rentec already has this existing functionality, only instead of grouping into “portfolios”, properties are grouped to “owners”.
To use this, visit the Accounts tab, and Add an Owner. Then edit the properties you wish to be grouped, and assign them to this owner.
To report on an owner, select the owner name within the Account drop-down in any of the report areas.
You can also group properties by property manager. If you add a property manager (Settings, Manage User Accounts), then edit the properties and specify the appropriate property manager. Depending on the settings specified, that property manager will only be able to run reports, view, and edit their assigned properties.
If you have a specific use case where the existing functionality does not meet your needs, we would love to hear about it. We’re keeping this feature under consideration pending some good valid use cases that cannot be accomplished within the existing system.
