Indicate on deposits made to my bank from rental payments, which tenant the payment came from

Currently, my bank account shows rent deposits as "Forte". In order to reconcile my books each month, my bookkeeper needs to know which deposits came from which tenants. Can you do something, so the deposit indicates which tenant the money is from?

Sorry - the banks do not give us the option of a descriptor that would include the tenant name. However, we provide a report of all ACH transactions made per day in Rentec, which you can then match up with the deposits into your bank account. You can also login to Forte's virtual terminal to get settlement reports as well, so there is multiple ways to accomplish what you need. Contact our success team at 800-881-5139 or success@rentecdirect.com if you need any help with that.

We're in the process of moving everyone to Rentec's Forte (ACH), and I thought this would take care of our monthly headache. You're saying it DOESN'T identify which tenant it's from? ahhh

it comes in the form of an email, when a tenant makes a payment? So will know, and as a bookkeeper, I would just put a note on the tenants account or write it down for the boss.

I agree 100%. Reconciling the book is soooo hard and takes so long because you dont know exactly who paid the rent in that batch.
